Dr. Benny Jose has a cumulative of 13 years of experience in treating cardiac ailments. He has gained the majority of his experience by working as a senior faculty in Asia’s largest cardiology institute, the U. N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre (affiliated to B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, Gujarat). With an experience of over 5000 interventional and triple that of diagnostic coronary procedures, his interventional skills are beyond question. The interventional services that he extends include complex coronary interventions, including but not limited to use of ancillary cutting edge technologies like rotablation, intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography assisted coronary interventions.

Beyond coronary interventions, he also routinely performs peripheral vascular interventions like that for occluded blood vessels of the limbs, aortic interventions and carotid inteventions.

Device therapy for congenital heart diseases like ASD, PDA also comes under his forte. Pacemaker implantation is a treatment that corrects a variety of heart rhythm disorders and Dr. Benny has experience of over 200 such cases.

His greatest pride, however, is having had the opportunity to teach and groom three generations of cardiologists at B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad and impart his interventional skills to the residents and junior faculty in cardiology. His becoming the global cardiology lead in LearnEfficient.com helps him retain his academic interests and furthers his ambitions in teaching.

What does a Cardiologist do?

A cardiologist is a physician who treats the heart and its disease by diagnosing and medicating. Unlike cardiac surgeons, they do not perform surgical procedures. They see patients with routine heart check-up and also complex cases of heart disease and heart conditions.

Who is an Interventional Cardiologist?

Interventional cardiologists are trained in cardiology and continue to the additional training in interventional cardiology. This extra training allows them to perform minimally invasive procedures involving small incisions and catheters instead of traditional surgery. These procedures are used to diagnose and treat diseases such as heart valve disorders, coronary artery disease, congenital heart disease, endocarditis, peripheral artery disease etc.

Who is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon?

Cardiothoracic surgeons are heart surgeons who perform surgery in the area of the heart and lungs. They have extensive experience in complex, life-saving procedures and cardiac care, including advanced, specialized procedures such as robotic and video-assisted lung surgery, minimally invasive mitral valve repair and complex neonatal repairs.
